Creating a first impression of Westbridge - Debbie Suggs

Debbie Suggs' smiling face at Westbridge's front desk sets the tone for the Westbridge experience. "There is such a family spirit here at Westbridge," says Debbie. "It is my job to create that first impression of what a warm, caring place Westbridge is."

Debbie has been creating that impression for the past eight years, coming to Westbridge after a 20-year career in early childhood education and daycare.

"I brushed up on my computer skills and decided to pursue something different," she said. Debbie received her training through the People's Resource Center and has since been active in sharing her computer knowledge with others.

"Since I received the training when I really needed it, I decided to give back to the community by tutoring others, both in the community and at work." she said.

Debbie was honored for her community service and her selfless spirit with the "Shining Star Award" in 2001 from the Life Services Network of Illinois, the state association that represents and supports the senior housing industry.

"We have a great team here at Westbridge, from my co-workers to the family members to the wonderful residents," she said. "I love coming to work everyday."
