A veteran in the senior health care industry, Joe Benson, has more than 30 years high level management experience in this ever-growing marketplace. For the past 13 years, he has served as president of Wyndemere Retirement Community in Wheaton, Ill., a part of the Wyndemere Senior Living Campus.
At Wyndemere, he is responsible for overseeing all aspects of this senior independent living community, including daily operations, strategic planning, marketing and finance, among a host of others. He recently led the organization's efforts in securing accreditation through the Continuing Care Accreditation Commission (CCAC), an arduous year-long process that included a review of the community's operations, financial management and resident physical, psychological and social needs.
Benson began his career in senior health care in Oklahoma City,
Okla., as assistant administer and was promoted to positions of increasing
responsibility which first included vice president of operations, and,
ultimately, corporate vice president of operations.
Additionally, he
served as president of Joliet-Ill.-based Combined Health Services. Because of
his extensive industry experience, Benson has also consulted with a variety of
organizations in long-term health care and assisted living facilities, as well
as related new business ventures.
Benson holds a bachelor's and master's degree in business and public administration from Governor's State University, located in Park Forest, Ill., and is a designated Retirement Housing Professional Fellow.
Benson resides in Joliet, Ill., with his wife, Melanie. They have three daughters and two grandchildren.
